How it works
Pick a phase, log, adjust by trend.
Pick a phase
Bulk, cut, maintain or diet break, plus your pace in percent of body weight per week. Lean is law suggests common values and warns you when it gets too fast.
Log weight and food
Log your weight in seconds or pull it from Apple Health or Health Connect. Enter calories and macros yourself or read them from Health, where other nutrition apps write too.
Adjust by trend
After one or two weeks your trend weight shows whether your pace is right. With Pro, Lean is law works out your TDEE and your target calories for the phase from intake and trend.
The scale jumps. Your trend doesn't.
Water, salt, carbs and glycogen move the scale by 1 to 2 kg overnight; a refeed or a hard leg day is enough. In a lean bulk, though, you might gain 0.3 kg a week. Lean is law smooths your weigh-ins and shows the line you adjust your calories by.
- Trend weight: the smoothed course of your daily values, with a method of your choice
- Weekly rate: the slope of your trend line, in kg and in percent per week
- 7-day change: today's trend against the trend a week ago
A spike after a refeed moves your trend by a few grams. That is exactly the point.
Every phase at its own pace
One active phase, the next one already planned. In the chart, phases show up as colored bands.
0.25 to 0.5% per week
Default 0.35%. Above 0.5%, Lean is law warns you: more fat than needed.
0.5 to 1.0% per week
Default 0.7%. Above 1.0%, Lean is law warns you: muscle loss becomes more likely.
±1.5% corridor
Keep your weight inside a band. You choose how wide it is.
2 weeks
A planned break in a long cut. Afterwards Lean is law asks: back to the cut?
Pace in percent of your trend weight per week. Guide values, not medical advice.
