Frequently asked questions
Yes. Logging weight, trend weight, weekly rate, history, Apple Health or Health Connect, phases with pace warning, logging calories and macros, supplements with reminders, the weekly check-in with posing photos, experiments and markers, export and import and a daily reminder are free for good. Lean is law Pro adds adaptive TDEE, target calories and macro targets, the forecast to the end of your phase, pose comparison, patterns, balance, monthly reports, body measurements, experiment evaluation, long chart ranges and, on iPhone, the iCloud backup and the larger widgets.
Locally on your phone. Lean is law has no server of its own and no account. Weight, body measurements, nutrition, supplements and photos are not sent to us. Only if you turn on the iCloud backup on iPhone does the app put a copy in your own iCloud account, which we cannot access.
The adaptive TDEE needs at least 7 days with nutrition entries within the last 14 days. Until then Lean is law estimates your needs from height, age, sex and activity and marks the value as estimated. Log your meals or read them from Health, and the estimate turns into a measured value.
Lean is law then tells you the reason instead of a date, for example when your trend is barely moving, is currently going the wrong way or there are not enough weigh-ins yet. The app never makes up a date. The forecast is part of Lean is law Pro.
iOS does not tell apps whether read access was granted. In the Health app, check under Profile → Apps & Services → Lean is law that weight and, if you import calories, the nutrition values are allowed. Then use "Settings & more → Apple Health → Sync now". On Android, check in Health Connect under App permissions → Lean is law that weight and nutrition are allowed.
No. Your daily value is your own entries in Lean is law plus the entries of other apps from Health. Entries that Lean is law itself wrote to Health are skipped when reading.
Under "Settings & more → Supplements" you set the name, amount, up to four times and the weekdays and turn the reminder on. In the notification you tap "Taken" without opening the app. All reminders run locally on your device.
On iPhone the easiest way is the iCloud backup (Pro): if it is on, Lean is law offers to restore after reinstalling. Photos are not included. Alternatively, export a JSON backup including photos under "Settings & more → Export, backup & import" and import it on the new device. On Android, the JSON backup is the way.
Lean is law backups (JSON), CSV files and CSV exports from Happy Scale, Libra, openScale and Excel. You see a preview before importing, and existing daily values are not duplicated.
Via "Settings & more → Manage subscription & purchases" or in the iPhone settings: Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions → Lean is law Pro. On Android, go to the Play Store under Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. After cancelling you keep access until the end of the current billing period. If you bought Pro as a one-time purchase, it stays active for good.
Under "Settings & more → Export, backup & import → Delete all data" or by uninstalling the app. An active iCloud backup is deleted in the same place. We delete the anonymous purchase data at RevenueCat on request if you send us your anonymous ID from "Settings & more → Privacy".
