What a weight tracker for bodybuilding needs to do
A regular scale app asks: how far are you from your goal weight? Bodybuilding asks a different question: does the change fit the current phase? In a bulk, a rising curve is good as long as it is not too steep. In a cut, it should fall, but not too fast. In maintenance, it should stay within a band. A tracker for bodybuilders has to tell these three situations apart.
What Lean is law does about it
Phases as the frame. Bulk, Cut, Maintain and Diet Break define what "good" means. Each phase has its own rate or corridor, the app rates your weekly rate against it and colors the phases in the chart.
Trend as the foundation. Your daily weight after leg day, after pizza or after starting creatine is neither progress nor setback. Lean is law smooths the readings into trend weight. You can choose the method; the default is exponential smoothing.
Photos next to the numbers. The weekly check-in collects four standard poses. Missing poses show up as placeholders so the series stays complete. With Pro you compare the same poses from two dates and share the check-in as an image.
Everything that affects weight. Supplements with reminders, calories and macros (manual or from Health), experiments and markers for refeed, travel or a change in training. That way you can later see why the trend moved at a certain point.
Data that belongs to you
Lean is law has no server and no account. Weight, photos and nutrition stay on your device. You can export as CSV or JSON at any time, photos included. On iPhone, Pro adds an optional backup to your own iCloud account.
